WELCOME! We are very excited about the Graduate Certificate in Severe or
Profound Disabilities at the University of Central Florida. This certificate
can be taken by itself or incorporated into our Masters in Exceptional
Student Education Program. It is specifically designed to meet the
requirements for Florida Department of Education Endorsement in Severe or
Profound Disabilities. Learn

“The benefits of participating in the
SPD program are two-fold: Financial assistance has allowed me to further my
knowledge and my education earlier than I would have been able to without the
program. My students and other professionals I work with are enhanced by my
growing knowledge of the population of students identified as severe and
profound.” Project SPD Scholar |

Project SPD, Preparing Personnel to Serve Students with Severe/Profound
Disabilities, is a Personnel Preparation Grant in UCF’s Department of Child,
Family and Community Sciences. The four year project was originally funded by
the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs in
January, 2006. Project SPD II, Special Educator Preparation in Severe or
Profound Disabilities, funded January 2009 through December 2012 is designed
to extend the work of Project SPD. |
